May the Lord be with the Good

February 13, 2011 Donna New

2 Chronicles 19:6-11 “And (Jehoshaphat) said to the judges, Be careful what you do, for you judge not for man but for the Lord, and He is with you in the matter of judgment. … Deal courageously [be strong and do]. and may the Lord be with the good!”

In these days we should judge with grace the way Jesus taught us. When the bag boy talks way too much, when a girl has had an abortion, even when someone is gay, they deserve our love to help them grow in grace and to give them hope.

The ones that Jesus judged with harshness were the Pharisees…those who judged others harshly themselves. They knew the law of the Bible but not the heart of the Bible. They judged with no compassion or grace.

This week I want  to show grace to those around me. I want to judge by my heart not by the law. I want to ask the Lord how to judge the situations of people because He is with us in the matter of judgment. May the Lord be with the good!
