Abraham interceded, prayed on behalf, of some people. He didn’t just intercede once but time after time until he was afraid he was bugging the Lord. But he said, Behold now I who am but dust and ashes have taken on myself to speak to the Lord. He became very humble as he finished his intercession. He was humble but determined that God would hear.

God doesn’t take our intercession lightly. As we plead for the salvation of people or for their lives to glorify God He hears and doesn’t forget. Genesis 19:29 says “He earnestly remembered Abraham [imprinted and fixed him indelibly on His mind]…”

Indelible ink is stuff you can’t wash out in the washing machine. It’s called permanent. Indelible on God’s mind must mean etched or carved there. God will never forget Abraham’s intercession. It was given with concern for the righteous and the unrighteous alike. He was determined to physically save those who were spiritually lost and those who were spiritually saved.

There’s a verse in James that says The fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Abraham pleaded with much fervency and with great love. That’s our God too. He is fervently concerned for us and has great love for us whether we are lost or saved. That’s why Abraham’s prayer was indelibly written on God’s mind, Abraham’s heart was God’s heart.
