Our Calling is Calling

Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit. For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and  spiritual understanding; Colossians 1: 8, 9

Epaphras told Paul about the love the Colossians were sharing. Paul  had a desire to pray for them because he was a spiritual  dad and  saw something in them that was pure and gracious. When a group is loving they’re on the front lines of the spiritual battle. They need strength to stay loving, to keep dissension from creeping in and wisdom to stay well rounded spiritually. Paul desired that they be filled with God’s will, wisdom and understanding.

We need to be spiritual moms and dads  that watch those who are near us and pray for what they need...a balance of wisdom and love. There is potential in those we love that can only be developed by prayer and by grace shown by us. We have a calling that is tugging at our hearts waiting to be answered  and completed.
